Because one day I will play an OC with Chloe Bennet's face. Or Daisy. We just don't know. ANYWAY - we will comment with characters and requests. Surprises are a-okay. Shenanigans shall ensue.
READY SET GO!

It isn't that she didn't make friends. She just didn't usually make friends with girls. But when Barry stumbles over her after she falls through the rift, and takes her back to his apartment and introduces her to Iris (who is great), Kara finds herself with a girlfriend that's not her sister for the first time in her life.
And by girlfriend she means friend who is a girl, not a girlfriend. That would be wrong if she and Alex were girlfriends. Besides, she's pretty sure Iris and Barry are more like Iris and Barry, and she's not planning on getting in the way of that. Unless, of course, it's for a sleepover, in which case it's totally no boys allowed and she's going to hang out with her friends.
"You know," she says as she grabs another slice of pizza and leans back on the couch. "This is actually really nice. I'm glad that I'm not making things weird for you and Barry."
She has Bad Experience in this area.

She'll admit it's taken her a bit, getting used to Chicago's version of pizza, but she's growing fond of it. That might have something to do with the fact she's growing fond of the place, in general. Sure, she misses Joe and Wally like crazy, but this world only has one speedster, and it has people like Kara.
Laughing a bit at the comment, Iris leans back along with Kara. "Why would it be weird?"
Barry was excited to see Kara again, and Iris imagined it was for a reason: she's learned there's more than one reason. ... And sure, she didn't react well to Barry dating Linda, in ways that still make her feel somewhat ashamed, but she's grown since then!
She genuinely liked Patty, okay. Most of the time.

There's a small pause.
"I mean, me and Lucy are cool now, and the whole thing with her and James was more about Supergirl than it was about me." A beat. "Except, you know, Supergirl is me, so that still made it complicated, but once I let her in on my secret identity and we started really working together at the DOD things got a lot better. And Siobhan didn't like me before she and Winn became a thing, so I guess that one is more about me than it is about me being a girl best friend."
There's another beat as she takes a bite of her pizza, before taking a minute to chew. "Point is - it's nice not being a point of contention in someone's relationship for once. Being friends with a couple and actually being friends with both sides is new and exciting and really kind of nice."
that face tho
Iris is not used to being flustered when it comes to Barry Allen. He's her best friend; she knows what he looks like when he's got straws up in his nose, and when he's had too much mac and cheese. She could never imagine feeling anything other than comfortable and safe with him and y e t. "That's not ... " her voice trails off. "Barry and I aren't in a relationship."
He wasn't ready, and Iris respects that. If she's honest, she didn't even know if he felt the same way when she started to come around again. Timing has never been her strong suit. She may have reacted poorly to Linda, but Iris has grown up much since then.
If Kara ever liked Barry and vice versa, she'd respect that, too. As long as he heals.
"But you and me? We're good, I promise."

There's a beat as she sounds honestly surprised by that because she sees how Barry and Iris look at each other (she has eyes, after all) and the fact that they're not in a relationship is almost baffling. Then again, it kind of reminds her of her and James, dancing around something they weren't sure how to put into words.
"Oh. Sorry. You guys just seem so ... together."
