[Laurel Lance falls through the rift and right into one of Chicago's unfortunate disasters. This disaster happens to take the form of more of a Cthulu kind of situation Laurel's running through the park, trying to help people, when one of the tentacles slips around her waist and hoists her up into the air with a small shriek from the girl in question.

This is now how she intended to spend her day.

But at least she fell through the rift in her Black Canary gear. Padding helps. A little.]

[ a bullet will pierce one of the cthulu's tentacles. it slows the goddamn thing down, though it's still not enough to stop the monster completely. besides, he doesn't want laurel to plummet to an untimely and painful death. so his eyes follow the movement of the cthulu, keeping a scrupulous eye on the tentacle that's wrapped around laurel's waist.

and just as that tentacle is swinging low into the ground, john fires off his next shot.

HERE GOES NOTHING???????? ]

[The tentacle breaks and Laurel goes dropping to the ground, rolling a bit to kill her momentum and pushing up onto her feet again. She glances back at the guy waving the gun and she'll just shout, for lack of better words:]
