Matt's always been steady. He's been the most constant thing in her life, ever since they were kids, and he's been through so much. He's always been the one to take care of things -- take care of his mom, his sister, and she always thought that it is too much. It's too much for a kid their age to handle.

There was a point where it had been too much for her to handle. After her parents had died, he had been steady for her and she didn't want him to be. She wanted him to be unreliable and be just as scared as she was, but he wasn't. Matt is a rock.

Matt is her rock.

She sinks into his hold, something familiar, something that she knows she can count on, and just lets the tears spill into his shoulder. He's the one thing she knows will always be the same, and there had been so many times she had taken that for granted.

She isn't doing that now.
