Alexander laughs as he watches him, before glancing over the world. There were strategically suspended blocks everywhere and he was going to hit every single one. Eventually. Right now, he just needed to talk Rafe into actually enjoying himself.
"See? See, that was awesome."
Besides, his mother totally wasn't going to kill them.
It's why he's going to try and do it again, this time with a little more oomph, and he's able to land on one of the suspended blocks. It lights right up, and he looks back down at his best friend.
Alexander is good at getting Rafe to loosen up. Sure, it means they might get in trouble for it, but it always ends up being worth it. Somehow.
Getting Rafe to kick back and have fun is always worth it in Alexander's mind. As much as he adores Ms. Guevara (and he does, a lot, she makes the best food ever), he also knows that Rafe needs to be a kid first sometimes. And sometimes the rifts help him out with that.
He takes a few steps back, before taking a running leap from the end of the starting point, aiming for one of the suspended blocks to join him. He ... falls a little short, however, smacking his head against the block and dropping down to the ground with a hard thud!
Rafe smirks, looking down at him from the block he's standing on.
He may be something of a little shit sometimes, and it isn't often he gets to have the upper hand somehow. Alexander is far too crafty and clever for his own good. "Stop being a baby," is what he says, jumping up to another block, a little bit higher this time than the last go around.
Is he challenging his best friend to something? Possibly, possibly.
Oh, he will see your challenge. He climbs back onto the ledge he had before, taking more of a running leap hitting the edge of the cliff and flying up onto the line that Rafe was standing on previously. He did his best to preserve his momentum and hops up to meet his friend, landing with a grin.
While Rafe could continue on this pissing match, he's Rafe and so he genuinely grins in return when he sees his friend rise to meet him. His hand is nearly outstretched in case he needed a proper boost.
"I'm still Mario," Rafe says in reminder. 'Cause he can still be a little shit, too.
Alexander rolls his eyes a bit as he looks away, staring down the line of brick blocks. He can see a line of Goombas, moving back and forth aimlessly as they waited for them.
"So what do you think? Get to the end of the level, get back to Chicago?"
